How to Use the Walmart Visa Gift Card to Shop Online

Did you buy the Walmart Visa gift card and cannot figure out how to use it online? You may have already tried to use it online and the transaction was declined. That may be because you have not registered the card with Walmart. This article walks you through the registration process, after which you can then shop online.
To register your card with Walmart, you have to do the following:
1. Visit WalmartGift
2. Click on "Register Now"
3. Enter your name and billing address
Once you complete this process, you are now ready to shop online. This also allows you to view transactions that have posted to the account and check the balance remaining on the card. This also helps you in case the card is lost or stolen. The Walmart Visa gift card can be used online anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. When you check out, make sure you provide the same name and billing address the you used to register the card with Walmart, otherwise, you online transaction may declined by the merchant.
The reason why this entire registration process is necessary is because like online credit card transactions, the merchant has to match the name and billing address you provide, with the name and billing address on file with the card issuer. Since Walmart does not want to make the purchase process more difficult than it has to be, they sell the Visa card without requiring you to provide any personal information. As a result, when you use it online without registration, the merchant is unable to match your name and billing address, and that is why the transaction is usually declined.
So, after you buy any prepaid card, be sure to register it with the issuer. It will be nice if the companies that sell them for online shopping will at least provide instructions on how to use them at the back of the card.
